Key messages for new full-time higher education students

New students starting a full-time course at university or college in 2014/15 can apply now for their student finance at www.gov.uk/studentfinance

28 January 2014

Encourage your students to apply as soon as they can to make sure their money is in place at the start of their course.
They don't have to have a confirmed place - they can use their first choice of course and change it online at a later date if they need to.

We have a range of resources which are available for you to download and order to help you give students and parents expert advice about student finance. These include factsheets, presentations and films plus a range of guidance materials for students and handy quick guides covering:

  • applying for student finance,
  • applying for DSAs,
  • applying for dependants' grants,
  • what, how and when to repay and a guide for parents.

Our resources section will be regularly updated with new information and
materials so please save to your favourites and check back often.

You can also find details of regional advisers who can provide you with training and support on all stages of the student finance process.

For a range of helpful tools and guidance, students should also visit our dedicated Finance Zone at The Student Room.
