SFE Payment Film Available Now!

30 August 2016

Students must register at university or college to get their first student finance payment.

Our ‘Getting Paid’ film, above, explains what steps they need to take to get their money in time for the start of their course. It can be shared on your website and across your social media channels to help make sure students know what they need to do to get paid as quickly as possible.

The student finance zone also has some tips on how students can make sure they get their money in time for the start of their course.

Once it’s confirmed that they’ve registered, we’ll pay any Maintenance Loan they’re entitled to in their bank account – it can take three working days for the money to reach their account – and we’ll pay their Tuition Fee Loan directly to their university or college.

Beware of phishing scams

Fraudsters often target students around payment dates at the start of term. Make sure your students are aware of potentially fraudulent emails from anyone claiming to be from Student Finance England – we’ll never ask them to confirm their bank details or login information by email.

Ask SFE

If your students have any questions about their student finance payment or anything to do with student finance they can ask our experts on the student finance zone from 1-4pm, Tuesday to Thursday.

We’re also available on Twitter - @SF_England and Facebook between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday. Students just need to send their questions to #AskSFE – it’s that easy.
