What's available
Students can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan if they’re studying at an eligible university or college. They can get up to:
- £7,335 for 2026 to 2027
- £7,145 for 2025 to 2026
Starting a course on or after 1 January 2027
If a student is starting a higher education course on or after 1 January 2027, they can apply for student finance from September 2026.
Foundation years
Students studying an eligible foundation year in a classroom-based subject, like business, social science or humanities can get a Tuition Fee Loan of up to £4,315.
Studying in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland
Students studying an eligible foundation year in a classroom-based subject, like business, social science or humanities can get a Tuition Fee Loan of up to £4,315. Please be aware that if they’re studying a foundation year in a classroom-based subject at a Northern Irish, Scottish or Welsh Higher Education Provider, they may still be charged up to £7,335.
Students studying an eligible foundation year in science, engineering, subjects allied to medicine and creative and performing arts can get a Tuition Fee Loan of up to £7,335.
